Val Feld Award

 

2008 Winner

In 2002 Shelter Cymru set up the Val Feld Women & Homelessness Award. Val was the Charity’s founding director and the award is a way of remembering her tireless contribution to housing, and in particular to the promotion of women’s involvement in housing.

The award is presented annually to an initiative that addresses the issues surrounding women and homelessness. The winner receives a bronze sculpture designed by Welsh artist Helen Sinclair and prize money of £3,000.

2004: Young Women’s Housing Association, The Insight Project, Cardiff

2003: Cymdeithas Tai Hafan Project Pearl, Haverfordwest

 

Applications for the 2009 award are welcomed from organisations and individuals wishing to undertake research into the issues around women, housing and homelessness; to set up or fund a feasibility study for a new project; or to help develop an existing project.
