Building Future Lives

Building Future Lives is Shelter Cymru’s campaign to prevent homelessness and improve housing for everyone living in Wales.

By registering your name, you can help us raise awareness of the devastating effects that homelessness and living in bad housing has on children and families in Wales. Homelessness can happen to anyone at any time, it could happen to you.

Over recent years more people than ever have experienced homelessness - 2006 saw over 16,000 people accepted as homeless by local authorities in Wales. Opportunities for children are reduced – children belonging to homeless families miss out on 25% of their schooling.

Housing is creating a more divided Wales. In 2007 our Building Future Wales campaign will be highlighting the problems, costs and our solutions associated with poor housing and we are calling for People and Homes to be high on the public and political agenda.
